A clock inspired by the PlayStation 2 boot screen.

Another exploration with 3D space. I had the idea of towers/elongated cubes rising and disappearing to mark the seconds. I figured a 8x8 grid would give me 64 cubes, so if I removed the corners, I had my 60 seconds. It happens we never count to 60, it’s 59 then 0. I do not care. I like my 60 towers and made the dseign around it. Ths Playstation 2 theme came later when I was thinking on ways to style this clock. once I remembered the PS2’s boot screen, I had my clock. Just had to build it.

I haven’t played too many PS2 games, but I have some foundness for the system. This is the best selling system of all time in Brazil - and in the world, I think - so it has a special place on pop culture.

This is my first interactive clock - would you believe it? Click to alternate between 12/24 hours display.

I like how the towers rise from the void and return to it on the minute change. The flying pixels of color add some randomness and life to the composition, like small fishes swiming in digital fluid.

I am very pleased on how this clock turned out.
